Hi, I have never had this problem before and it’s making me nuts. I have a short clip with some footage mixed in with AfterEffects movies. When I play back in the program, it’s fine. When i print to tape, it’s fine. When I export it to QT it stutters. I’ve tried every setting I can think of. I copied the whole project off my firewire on onto my hard drive and still it sucks. All the render settings are at 100%, the playback quality is at high and frame rate at full.

    I have a G5, 2GHz processor. FCP 6.0.4. i have 30 GB free on my hard drive.

I tried a number of export settings, everything from DV/NTSC to uncompressed 8bit. I tried current settings and then various DV settings. I’m watching it on my computer, but I always do and have never had this issue. My sequence codec, DV/DVCPRO-NTSC.
Frame rate is 29.97. No pulldowns added.

An example of the stutter – We shot a lamp on a turntable. in the exported clip it isn’t smooth, but jerks like it’s jumping frames. The dissolves are jerky, the simple fade out doesn’t go smoothly to black. The whole movie is jerky, not just transitions.

    Thanks.

One thing off the top of my head … make sure the QT window is on only one screen and not covered or overlapped by any other window or application.
