  • Export to MPEG2 but Quicktime won’t recognize it

Posted by James Moore on June 11, 2005 at 12:43 am

i exported a sequence from FCP4 using quicktime conversion, and it kicks out a file that quicktime can’t understand. but i burned it on a cd and opened it on a g4 desktop and it opened in QT. I am on a G4 laptop, 1.25 with QT 7.0.1. Player version 6.5.2. Does anyone know why it won’t open on my laptop? Thanks in advance.

If you don’t have the MPEG2 QT plug in which is installed with the Pro version of Quicktime (purchase on Apple’s site) or if you don’t have DVDSP loaded (which installs it with Compressor) then you don’t have it.
