  • export, share no option to export

I have selected a project in the timeline and attempt to export it but export does not appear in the choices, only share. When I click on share it shows me that the size of the file is 9gb. the actual file that I imported into fcpx was 25 mg. Why is this happening and how can I get an exportable file that is not so huge?

When you click on “Share”, one of the options is “Master File (default)…”. This is the option to export to disk. Once you select that setting, you can choose the CODEC settings that you want to use for the export. If you use the same settings constantly, you can create a new entry in the Share menu that has those settings as the defaults.

Export the file as QT file and choose H.264 as the codec
Export the clip via compressor and set the size
Or use something like MPEG SyreamClip to compress and determine the file by using limit data size !
