    I shoot in mini-dv and edit my productions in PPro 1.5, and have used export settings appropriate for authoring on DVD. I’d like to make a couple productions to post on websites for the first time and would like to have the best picture/audio quality (picture primary) without it taking until xmas to download. I’ve noticed that movie trailers online seem to be a reasonable (format) size with reasonable image quality without it taking forever to download (on either Real Player or QT). Can someone advise me about what export settings to use in PPro 1.5 to achieve similar results?
    Thanks so much-

    Dont expect similar results unless your video was shot with a film camera, prfectly lit, then compressed with a hardware solution by a full time compressionist…but try creating a custom preset for Windows Media Video 9;
    2 pass variable constrained, average bitrate = 1 mbps, peak bitrate 1.5 kbps , 480 x 360 29.97fps, deinterlaced square pixels, 192 kbps audio. Also turn on Video Noise reduction filter in the encoder at the default level.

    Ahhh, I see. Thanks for the tips on the settings for Windows Media 9. Would those settings work as well with QT or something else cross-platform?

    thanks!

    If you want to use QT, you either need twice the file size for the same quality, or get Sorenson Squeeze and use it to transcode your AVI to Quicktime.
