Hi. I have pretty much taught myself how to film and edit over the last 2 years and so have very little technical know how on resoloutions etc.. i have been using premiere pro for a while now and have just upgraded to Pro 2. The dvd’s i have produced look fine on a television but when i try to play them through a projector they do not look very crisp when you compare them to a tv program or another dvd.. Is there a way to make sure finalised dvd’s look good on everything, including projectors?

No. That would require all TV’s and projectors to deliver the best display quality. Unfortunately, a lot of them deliver outright lousy or mediocre quality. Ambient lighting and projection screens enter into this equation as well.

The smaller the screen the better it will look by default to most people’s eyes. If you want a projection to look good up close spend a few thousand dollars and maybe. The point of a projector is to make video look good from far away, like in a movie theatre. Have you ever taken a close-up look of a movie theatre projection? It looks like crap, but in the tenth row it looks nice.

Having a pitch-black room, with no dust, and a high-end screen also makes a better projection.
