    Hi

I am filming press conferences for a client who has asked for very specific export settings.
    Here they are:

    Wrapper: MOV (QuickTime Movie)

Video Codec: Quicktime DV PAL Standard Def

    Video Compressor Quality: Best Quality

    Video Frame Size: 720×576

    Video Frame Rate: 25 fps

    Video Aspect Ratio: 16:9

    Key Frame: Every 50 frames

Audio Codec: Uncompressed or PCM (Little Endian)

    Audio Channels: 2 (Stereo)

    Audio Sample rate: 48000

    Audio sample size: 16bits

    A/V Duration synchronisation: on

The footage needs to be interlaced and not progressive.

It’s also important that you shoot and encode upper/odd filed first interlaced video.

The ‘stream type’ should be ‘non-streaming (not hinted) too.

If there is any options when exporting to provide an alpha channel this need to be unchecked or ‘ignored’.

I’ve just done a test and if I export using DV pal compressor type, the “key frame every option gets greyed out”.

    How do I change it?

Also, and I appreciate this is not a camera forum, but how do I ensure I shoot in upper/odd field interlaced video. I have only ever seen this in the editing settings. Am I missing something?

Any help appreciated, thanks in advance

    Jess

Also, I can’t see and option to turn the A/V Duration synchronisation on.

Apparently, if we can’t adhere to these settings, we can’t do the work. How important is the duration synchronisation anyway?

I may be being completely ignorant

Your client is a little confused.

DV has no key frames. Its a constant bit rate of 25 Mbs.

Unlike other PAL formats, DV PAL is Lower Field First.

You cannot change these these things to satisfy your client. They are “hard wired” into the codec.
