    i have a project shot w/HD DVCPRO – final output is to be ntsc standard broadcast. what would be the bext export settings to finalize the footage in After Effects, for example

    I like staying in HD until the very last moment if possible. Then down converting to uncompressed 10-bit NTSC.

    So depending on what you’re going to be doing in AE, you might down convert it first or leave it in HD.

    You must have reasons for that workflow (YCbCr>RGB>YCrCb). I would finish in AE only if I would print to film. I think that the tools in FCS2 make that unnecesary for the kind of footage you are using and the final format..
    I do things in AE and them I integrate them in FC. I export from AE with the same settings of my final sequence in FC. If I need to export anything from AE with an Alpha channel. I use Sheer.
