Export Sequence dialog freezes on AVI output…
My LE6 exhibits a strange problem when I select .AVI as the format for outputting a sequence.
When I select AVI as the format and then press the ‘Advanced’ button to choose my codec, it hangs for several minutes. Sometimes longer.
Depending on what i’m doing, I’ll choose Uncompressed (for loading into another effects program) or DivX for uploading to YouTube etc…
When the codec dialog eventually appears, I can choose my codec normally, but when it goes back to the first Export Sequence dialog and I select the tick (OK), it opens the progress bar window and hangs again – usually for some time at 0%. Then it displays the Export Sequence dialog again. If I click on the tick (OK) again, it exports normally.
This is very annoying and time consuming.
It only happens with AVI as the output format, any other format (eg Quicktime) works fine (although often with QT MPEG4 I get no audio!).
It would appear then that I have something amiss with my AVI codecs. A quick visit to the WIndows Control Panel and the Media settings to view these codecs shows nothing unusual, and checking the properties of each codec shows it is working correctly.
Any ideas…?
Is there some file in LE6 than can be reset/refreshed/deleted to clear this?
