    Hi,

I want to export a number of 3-5 min clips shot SD Pal anamorphic from FCP 6.06 using compressor 3.05. I have a mac and my client has a PC. To archive as a quicktime chews up drive space so I’m looking for a codec which retains quality but doesn’t need so much drive space; and is most versatile for any future use. Can anyone tell me, what is the difference between AIC and Apple Pro res? I’m doing a separate export in H264 for the web. Thanks guys for your advice.

I’ve been hunting around for something that explains and compares codecs and their uses, so if you know of anything that would be great.

    Thanks Sal

Storage is cheap; archive the SD in the same format it was acquired anything else will ruin it for archive purposes.
That said, nothing is future -proof
