  • Export RAW first or direct to desired format?

Posted by Ryan Atkins on October 1, 2009 at 2:30 pm

    I’ve always struggled with this…

Is it better to export your sequence as the raw uncompressed file first, or is it fine to export directly to compressor to your desired media format?

Does either give better quality over the other?

    Thanks!

    Hi Ryan,
IIt won’t be much difference if you send to Compressor from the FC time-line or if you export an Uncompress file and bring it to Compressor.
However sending to Compressor from the time-line can highly increase the process time.
Think that when you “Send to Compressor” to make a “Double pass MPEG-2” the sequence is rendered twice, even if have been fully rendered in FC.
And if you try to make a Double Pass H264, everything is rendered THREE times.
