Export Project structure to Excel or XML (or something similar?)
Hi,
I have an assistant editor working on a project, and need them to prepare footage for the edit for me.
What I want is for them to subclip the footage, giving them appropriate names, and then add keyword tags in the description column of the metadata. I’ve created a super-stripped schema for the project panel, so it shows only Name, Media Duration, and Description.
I then want to find a way to export this information in a way that I can use it to build a searchable database of all the clips – so that I could search by tag in the description column, for example.Granted, they could just email me the PP project file itself, and I would be able to see all this information, and search it, but I would like to be able to extract it into a database so that we can have an online google doc of the footage library as we’re building it.

Have you had a look at Adobe Prelude yet?
here: https://www.adobe.com/products/prelude.html
Specifically for logging of clips and applying metadata….
this can not only be sent to PPro…
but also exported as FCP XML…
