    Hi

I am creating a DVD and all was going well. I exported each sequence using Quicktime Movie… with Make Movie Self-Contained un-checked. Imported each QT movie into iDVD and burnt the DVD. I watched it on a TV and noticed a couple of things I wanted to change. I went back into FCP and made my changes – nothing major. Now when I try to export the two sequences that I’ve edited, using the exact same method, they each take a couple of hours to export. Before they only took a few minutes. My main problem is that I have limited space on my hard drive and run out of room just before the second edited sequence finishes exporting.

The first time I exported everything successfully and still had plenty of disk space to burn the DVD and now there’s no way. They seem to exporting slowly and as much larger files. I deleted the original exported movies. The changes I made to the sequences were only to re-size the wireframe in a couple of scenes.

I hope this all makes sense. Any help would be greatly appreciated – I need to post this DVD out tonight!!

Try trashing your FCP preference files, restart FCP and then export your QT movies again. If you’re unsure how to do this here’s a link on how to do it the right way:

    https://www.kenstone.net/fcp_homepage/trashing_fcp_prefs.html

There’s also a freeware program available that does it for you called FCP Rescue. Just Google it and it’ll come up.
