I looking for a way to export markers from the timeline. I’ve researched this couldn’t find anything that will export a marker list with hh:mm:ss:ff.

I’ve tried exporting and XML of the project and using regular expressions to extract the data that I need but the XML doesn’t have the timestamps as hh:mm:ss:ff

I also tried an old app from Andreas Kiel called X-Files but for some reason when I click the save timeline markers button it does nothing. Link here.

I can’t believe it’s difficult to achieve this when the legacy FCP was able to export this data easily.

    Thank you for any pointers.

The “Producer’s Best Friend” app might be able to do this, but it’s $100.
A free workaround that might work (I haven’t tested it) is to export your project XML from FCPX, import it in the free version of DaVinci Resolve, and then export an EDL/marker list as a text or .csv file from Resolve.

The free CommandPost from https://commandpost.io allows exporting the timeline index as csv. Here’s a previous thread about something similar. https://forums.creativecow.net/readpost/344/54929
