EXPORT issues
Posted by Kevin Mcquade on September 15, 2005 at 2:34 amI AM EXPORTING FROM AE 6.5. IN MY COMP WINDOW EVERYTHING LOOKS GREAT, BUT WHEN I EXPORT AND VIEW IN FCP CANVAS, IT LOOKS HORRIBLE. THE ISSUE IS A CHROMEKEYED HEAD, SHOT ON A Z1U.

September 15, 2005 at 2:47 amIT’S BAD ETIQUETTE TO WRITE IN ALL CAPS. IT LOOKS AS IF YOU’RE SHOUTING AT US. There. That’s better.
In FCP, are you set to view at “high quality”?

September 15, 2005 at 3:10 amSorry about the caps, I was rendering… I am set to view in high quality. I have never had this issue before. Infact i am only adding a clip to the project. everything else has run fairly smoothly.

September 15, 2005 at 4:15 amAs for the caps, you can just minimize the window, for the same effect.
So what’s different, if you’ve never had this problem before? Have you tried it with other clips, other projects, new timelines, new renders … ? Have you found any kind of pattern?

September 15, 2005 at 6:15 amNormally the work I do has it’s final output to NTSC. This project is for a CDROM. So I have been messing about with the different codecs, and field interpolation. I think I got it all sorted out, the last combination seems to have worked. This was the only clip giving me a problem. The big issue I think is that you can really see why you shouldn’t key with DV. The tighter shots worked out alright, but you lose alot of detail in the faces on the wide. This is where the problem was. The dudes face looked like a big ‘ol pixelated mess. Atleast on the canvas it did. Anyway, I got it to work, so thanks for your help.
