I am using Compressor to export a video that contains lower third fonts. When the export is complete the video looks fine, the lower third background looks good, but the fonts are misaligned and stretched on the “Y” axis. The setting that I am exporting to is H.264 creating .mov files. What’s really strange (to me at least) is when I did an export to an .m4v file everything looked good.

    Important information regarding this post

I’m on a Mac using OS 10.5.8 and FCP Studio Pro 6.0.6 (Compressor 3.0.5).
My source codec is (FCP sequence setting) HDV 1080i60 and my destination is h.264 1280 x 720.

Additionally, when I export using the h.264 preset in Compressor, the font lines up perfectly, only it’s squished down to a 4:3 image. If I go into the geometry menu and set my resolution to 1280 x 720 with square pixels the image looks right (16:9) but the font goes screwy.
