    Hello,

I have a 27 minute clip that I have already exported the audio to a seperate QT audio file in 48hz. I will put this through Apac later on. I now want to export the video from the TL and am wondering if I should export it with no compression (which I did and it was 31 total GB). I see many other choices to export with and am not sure if I should go with another choice. It is mini dv footage that has many many effects and composites on it. Also, it has a lot of sports action. I am using FCP 4.5 HD. I will then encode my soon to be created QT video only file into compressor and I can take it from there to eventually wind up on a DVD. Any thoughts on the export from the TL before I send it to compressor..

    Thank,
    Coach

UNcompressed is great, but as you saw, the files sizes are big! Next time, just choose “Export> Quicktime Movie” (not “With Quicktime Conversion”).

If you compress on the same machine, you can leave “Make Self Contained” unchecked. If you need to transfer it somewhere, check that box.
