So I’m trying to export HDV footage straight to tape (also HDV) using the “Print to Video” function in FCP 6.0.6

I’ve done all my clips with no problems at all…except one. With this particular clip, the export gets to a certain point (approx 12 mins in) and all of the sudden the camera LCD goes blue and the time code stops running but the record light stays on and the computer continues the export. I’ve checked the tapes afterwards and the export has definitely stopped when this happens. I have tried exporting the timeline as one HDV clip to my HD, re-importing to FCP and exporting to tape again but still have the same problem. I have also tried exporting other sections of the clip (not the start) and still have the same problem.

Has anyone heard of this problem before and do you have any solutions?

    Thanks for reading!

HDV is was designed as a acquisition format only. Some have exported to HDV tape on Windows based editing systems.

Will- We do a lot of export to tape (HDV). My guess is that clip has a corrupted media file. You may need to redigitize and export again.
