I had a station ask if we could send them a HD Quicktime MPEG2 I-Frame file for them for broadcast. I don’t seem to have the option to do that either through Export > Movie or through the Media Encoder. In fact, since I’m working on a Matrox Axio LE system, the only MPEG2 I-Frame option that comes up is the Matrox codec one for an AVI file. The project is in 720p.

Is there a way to do this through Premiere Pro 2? Would I need to get Quicktime Pro in order to do this?

    Thanks for any help.

Actually I just talked to the guy again, and he said that an AVI file is fine. But again, the only MPEG2 I-Frame encoder I see is the Matrox one, and that won’t play on a non-Matrox system.

    Just to summarize:

    File type: AVI
    Project is 720P
Need MPEG2 I-Frame 50Mbps compression that is stand-alone (not Matrox)

    Any ideas?

    Thanks again.
