I want to know how does one export HD footage from premiere to After effects. I recently bought a sony Z1 (1080i) and and have used it for SD till now. I am trying to export my captured footage to AE CS3 so that I can do some effects work to the footage then send it back to Premiere pro.

Do I need a 3rd party plugin to do this? Cineform,Raylight,Lagarith,Mjpeg2000 Prores etc.

Do I export it as High quality mpg2?

Is there anywhere I can find a tutorial on the correct workflow for this?

    or last resort

Do I rob a bank and buy a Mac?

    Thanx

I would render out using Quicktime Animation, or Quicktime Photo JPG, then open that in AE. Granted, this would be a “flat’ version. Depending on what you want to do in AE (color grade, etc), this could be all you need. After you’re done in AE, render out in the same manner – Animation, Photo JPG, etc. This is a simple approach without really knowing what you’re trying to do. Hope this helps! Ps. you don’t need a Mac to do video editing.

Thanks will give it a bash tonight and check the quality. I am wanting to composite 3d and green screen.
I know you don’t need a MAC but I have been using Final Cut pro. P.C. seems to be its own beast. I wish they would bring out Final Cut pro for PC, Macs are mostly P.C these days anyhow. Maybe they will release OS for p.c.

Thanks for your help it is appreciated
