export from one timeline to multiple clips?
Hello!
I am very new to premiere pro. Using CS3 on PC.
I have shot one long take of a live performance. I have added it to the timeline and now I would like to export each song in the performance as a separate clip so I can upload them to Youtube etc.
At the moment the only way that I understand how to do this is by setting the range in the timeline and then go to export, this then opens up the mediaencoder.
Is there any way for me to set up “markers” (dont know the lingo here…) so that I can batch export certain portoins of the timeline as separate clips in one go?
I have access to Encore also (although Im very new to this so I have no idea what Encore does or if it wuold help me in this situation…)
Any suggestions much appreciated, and please explain in a robust way since im very new to this.

This long take what kind of footage is it? Tape? is it SD or HD?

the material is a 25 minute long take with a canon ixus 640×480 pix, 30fps if it matters…

I think is a manual process with CS3, with CS4 since the Adobe Media Encoder is a separate application, you can do batch conversion.

Ok the solution that I have settled for is not perfect, but ok:
– I select range in Premiere CS3, export. It is added as a job in the MediaEncoder queue.
Then I go back to Premiere and do the same thing for next range, and then next range etc etc.When all ranges have been exported to Media Encoder, I start the queue.
At least that way I dont have to wait for the encoding until I export the next clip…

then get rd_Render Layers
import the PP Project in AFX e send the multiple layers render from there!
