  • Export from FCP 7 in sync on Mac but not on PC

    Hi

Exported a DVPAL sequence from FCP7. This plays fine on the Mac but on a PC the audio is out of sync.

Any ideas on a possible cause?

    Thanks!

If you’re uisng a long GOP codec (any member of the mpeg4 family – H.264 included – or any member of the mpeg 2 family) try using an all I frame codec – DV, ProRes, or Animation.

Run updates on the PC. Look for updates to Quicktime, the video board, and the audio board.

If it’s a slower computer try to stick to viewing it at 100%. Any other size involves scaling.

Thanks, it is exported as DVPAL which is not long GOP. Also, I have tried viewing on several PCs and it is out of sync. I think there is a problem with the file but not sure what?

Might give ProRes or Animation a try. If you do animation consider using AVI instead of Quicktime. In FCP you can use File -> Export -> Quicktime components to create AVI files.
