Export for Protools
I am trying to find the best way to export out of MC5 as an AFF to be seamless in ProTools. Does anyone have any pointers??

I usually just embed the files (as WAV 48KHZ 24bit) in the folder with the AAF and it’s always worked fine for me.

You don’t export AIFF for ProTools. You export either AAF (preferred) or OMF (old, but still works…just with a file size limit)
Contact the ProTools editor and ask what they want, and how they want it.

Well, the Protools editor is here and we are trying to make an ADR happen. I need the timeline of selects to be visible for the talent in the booth. We are able to get the audio, but the video is not in a format the PT can read. I tried every single option for video with no success. I switched the format of our 1080i project to NTSC 30i and the Protools will only import the video as a “satellite video” (whatever that is). Basically, I just need the recipe to get 1) All audio tracks and 2) a reference video of some kind to be able to get it into the booth. Basically, I’ve fallen and I can’t get up!

Export a QT reference movie, then use SORENSON SQUEEZE to compress to H.264, or Sorenson 3. Surely the audio guy knows what format of QT works on his system.

Pro tools will be happy with an h264, motion Jpeg A type, DV pal,
surely this isnt the 1st time hes used video in his rig. He must know its preferences.
