Export FCP sequence to QuickTime crashes
I’m trying to export my final output to a QuickTime but it’s actually crashing on me at around 80% finished after more than 10 hours. I’ve tried to export the
Audio then create new sequence and nest the
Video track into new sequence but it still crashes. Meaning it goes to the window that says would you like to transmit error log to apple kinda thing.My project file is 131megs and I have 6gigs of memory. Is there a limit to a FCP project? All I have in the

Could do an export?I’m trying to accomplish a few things:
1) I’d like to export to compressor to watch on apple tv.
2) make a blu ray disk
3) output final master QuickTime.I’m in desperate need since I have a
Screening on May 7th.BTW, ignore my computer hardware setting that appear u under. I don’t use that system any linfer.

It’s easy to tell from the 10-hour figure that you are obviously trying to export directly from the timeline in FCP. Dont!!! Instead, export self contained QT using Export>>Quicktime Movie, and use that as your master to create DVDs, web videos etc. from Compressor.

Steven, I don’t know the reason of your problem, but NESTING probably complicates things.[Steven Escobar] “My project file is 131megs and I have 6gigs of memory.”
What means 6GBs memory?
Footage, or “free memory in your HD”?

Yes. That is what I’m trying to so. I tries self contained video as well as reference.

I have 6 gigs of RAM. So I don’t know if my project of 131 megs is using more than that and the application is running out of memory.

Ah, the joys of working with large, complicated sequences in Final Cut Pro.
Deleting items from your project doesn’t actually free up that much space.
What you need to do is create a new project and drag your final sequence into the new project.
I would be tempted to then trash all your render files and start a fresh render – setting the render drive to the fastest drive you have available. This might not happen in one go. Depending on whatever is going on in your project you might find it crashes so you might have to do it in sections, maybe even clip by clip. Once you’re sequence is rendered export a Quicktime movie (self contained or refernce). Then move on to Compressor.
