    have been asked about editing for somebody using avid/pinnacle and have suggested it would be easy for me to edit during day and e-mail him edl after days work. is here a compatable edl format can use

    CMX3600 is the standard format. But bear in mind that you can’t use ANY effects beyond dissolves. Those will not transfer. And just a simple EDL might not be enough…might not work. You can try, but if you have issues then you might have to invest in Automatic Duck Pro Export for Avid (https://www.automaticduck.com).

    Does he have all the footage too? Just wondering how the EDL will help if he didn’t. Is he planning on recapturing on his end? Automatic Duck now will copy the media as well, I think. I have to play with it.
