  • Export DCP fail in Davinci

    Hello,
I’m writing for a solution of  the following problem.

I tried to use easyDCP to export DCP in a Davinci project. But it failed for several times : Davinci quit in the middle of the export; or , the warning of “drop frame” popped up in the middle of the export.

The Davinci project consists of the following files :
    RED r3d raw (4K)
Mov (ProRes 4444, ProRes 422 HQ, ProRes 422 proxy, DNxHR 444)
    TIF
    Wav
    Png

    Timeline length: 1hr 27mins
    File size: 1.5GB

    Export format: easyDCP
    Codec: 2K DCI Flat
    Resolution: 1998 x1080 DCI Flat 1.85

    Computer Specification:
    Window-64bit O EM MS Windows Home 10 T. Chi KW9-00148/147
    CPU-Intel Core i7
    RAM-32GB Kingston HyperX FURY
    Motherboard: Asus X99-E ATX
    Graphics card: 8GD5X Gigabyte GTX1080 G1 Gaming

Thank you for your attention. Hope someone can give me some advice to solve this problem.

[Shermen Chan] “Timeline length: 1hr 27mins

    In preamble:
What (tiny) file would this be referring to?
Is your installation of easyDCP licensed?

You may just be running out of space on your target drive? Resolve can give errors like that when it runs out of space or something similar?

If I were you, I’d render out a flattened file of the entire project in a high-res format of your choice — DNxHD 444 could work well — then create a new empty project, load in just this file with no corrections (and the soundtrack), then create the DCP from that. It’ll go a lot faster and will present a lot less overhead for the system.

The easy DCP is a demo version with watermark.
Sorry , the size is refer to the size of the Davinci project, I’m just afraid the project is too large to export the DCP

    Thanks

I still have around 400GB in my hard rive, so it should be okay, but in the Davinci project, the estimated disk space used after render shows around 400%, is it the main problem?

    Thanks,
It should be work, but I’d like to export the highest quality as it will be shown in cinema, is DNxHD 444 good enough for normal cinema screening after export as DCP?
