    Hallo all

I need to export a .mov file as a .flv file from After Effects 6.5 I have legal software for both After Effects and Flash CS4. According to all searches on Google the menu item will appear in my AE export menu if I have Flash installed. Do I have to install AE first and then Flash? As far as I know this is a free or bundled plugin. Where can I download it if so. Please, I need urgent help. I have a deadline coming up.

    Thanx
    Jaco

It should show up in the menu path File > Export > Flash Video or by clicking Format in the render queue Output Module window. If not, it probably is some kind of installation issue … I’m not sure which one might need to be installed first … it probably shouldn’t matter, but if it does, my guess is Flash would need to go first so AE would recognize that it’s there. With a deadline looming, if there is really an installation issue, I’d contact Adobe instead of the forums.

After Effects 6.5 hmmm, does it even support flv? or just swf?

If you have Flash CS4 you may have the Adobe Media Encoder, a much better route for you. Use it to convert rendered QuickTime or AVI in to flv or f4v files.

We did have the functionality before. We upgraded our MAC and the previous designer never looked for any plugins to move over to the new MAC. He don’t know where he got the platform. Needless to say the the previous MAC was formatted and given to another designer.

Thanx to all, I found it on the FLASH Professional8 CD. It is a installer file on the CD for extra applications that can only be installed from that CD. No loose plugin that you can just drag and drop.
