  • Export as Filmstrip to repair dead camera pixel

I was wondering if there was a way to export a sequence as an image filmstrip. The reason I want to do this is because after a full day shoot, it came to my attention that the camera we were using (XL2) had a dead pixel (I’m just the editor). So I need to go into each frame and color the dead pixel space to match the frame it is in.

I know that I can export each frame as a still, but there is an option in premiere pro that lets you export as a filmstrip. You can then open the filmstrip file in Photoshop and it opens each file in a string or series (rather than each frame individually) This saves a tone of time. That way I don’t have to save each frame individually.

I don’t even know if what I have written makes sense, but if there is some chance that it does and anyone has an idea of how I can fix my problem, I would love to hear it!!!

Digital Heaven makes a $10 plugin to fix this exact problem. It’s called Reincarnation.

    Have a wonderful day.

Run don’t walk to the Digital Heaven website. Martin’s magically pixel correction plug in will save you years of pain suffering and heartache.

In the end you will have gladly been willing to pay $10 for every minute you saved using his plug in.

I highly recommend all his FCP plug in’s.
