    Hello All !

I want to achieve the workflow described below.

I am transferring MTS files (1080i60) from Handycam and start editing them in Premiere.

In Premiere I am using some effects which are not available in Vegas.

Once the edit is done in Premiere, how can I export into the same format MTS/M2TS files ?

I read somewhere that Dolby encoding has been removed in Premiere, meaning that it will not output MTS/M2TS anymore. If such case, what is the most suitable format (audio + video) to export from Premiere and to import into Vegas – I am talking here about 1920×1080 interlaced video.

In Vegas, I am using plugins which are better compatible with interlaced video.

So, I want the video files treated in Premiere, to import them into Vegas and from Vegas to have the final output.

    Thank you

I would say that the best format I use for Vegas Pro since I edit videos there all the time are between .MOV and .MP4 formats via 59-60fps and 1080p format. Not sure if you are looking for higher quality than that. I looked up this link right here: https://community.adobe.com/t5/premiere-pro-discussions/m2ts-files-no-longer-playing-in-premiere-projects-nor-usable-in-encoder/m-p/14606615

And its seems a while ago they stopped supporting M2TS formats, this forum I sent you was posted this year in 2024 so maybe it can give you more insight on this. Hope it helps!

So what is the proper format to export lossles from Premiere and then to import into Vegas ? – in my case video is 1920×1080 interlaced.

Not sure what lossles means so if you can explain that, it would be good. I believe I have also rendered videos of 1920x1080p before as well in Premiere Pro. I just upload that video on YouTube afterwards but I am sure if you render it to MP4 or MOV, you can send that render over to Sony Vegas afterwards if anything.
