Quick question, when I send Quicktime from AE to Avid, I use the Avid Merdian CODEC Compresed, but I seem to get a little tearing on the text. What is the best way to export from AE to Avid.

PS I think I have the right settings on everthing else including the import on the Avid, Lower field First, 601, etc.

Another question? Does anybody use Automatic Duck software and do you like it.

    Thanks

I use the Animation Codec to make renders, I find that it usually looks better than the Avid codec. In addition i find that when we send elements out for finishing in a Flame or Smoke machine they request that the QTs use the animation codec.

Also, we use the Automatic Duck plug in… its works most of the time. The problem is trying to intergrate it into the workflow, because we use a Unity here for storage and our After Effects workstation is not connected to that, we have to transfer media using a firewire drive… it can be a very slow process sometimes.

I agree. I always use QT Animation at Best quality to go to the DS. So I’m sure it’s the same with symph.
