Export AE 6.5 Camera Data To Maya
Hi,
I was wondering if you can export the camera data from after effects to maya???
I want to then add in my 3d objects, render out, then add to my comp and it should be matched moved. I am doing this so i can comp and get my camera right, then add 3d. The reason for this is time and 3d department is tied up so i am volunteering to do it myself.If this is possible,

I just had a look around and found the 3dmation scripts, but the problem is I have maya V5.5 and it only exports to V6. Damn. If anyone has any other suggestions on exporting 3d camera from after effects to maya 5.5, that’ll be great

Search the archives. In the last month or two we had a thread about it and someone pointed to a plug-in that would do it. What versions it used I don’t know.

Jamie, open the .ma file that the script exported in any text editor, replace all the “Maya 6.0” to 5.5. You should be able to open it in Maya 5.5 one you’ve done that.
