I’ve got a project coming up where I need to create a cuts-only edit in Final Cut Pro, then export the EDL to a format that a Symphony Nitris can understand. I also have an Avid Xpress Pro sitting next to me. Should I edit using that instead? I prefer Final Cut. Any ideas?

    Thanks much!

Use the Automatic Duck Pro Exporter to send an OMF to Avid. That works extremely well.

We use the Duck’s Pro Importer to bring Avid projects into FCP all the time to finish here and it works great.

If you already have Avid Xpress Pro, just use that. The conform will be seamless and you dont have to buy the Duck. (EDL’s…they work..but soooo limited)

I say this as a huge supporter of FCP and the Duck. But if you have the opportunity to have total conform, why not go for it.
