  • EXPORT a animation 3D model to the USDZ with that animation ?

Posted by Mauricio Barrientos on January 24, 2025 at 1:45 pm

Hello, I just wanted to know if it’s possible to export a model with animation from Cinema 4D R26 or 2024 to the USDZ format with animation.

I’ve managed to export the USDZ object, but it arrives without animation, and I need that animation. Is there a way?

Conclusion: Is it possible to EXPORT a 3D model to the USDZ format with included animation from Cinema 4D?

    Hi Mauricio,

Although Maxon talks on their YouTube channel about improving export to USD in recent versions, but it seems that users’ problems with this are not over yet. I suggest that you bake as Alembic and then link the exported file with the Alembic file if you find that the animation is not included in the target program, or you could (as is the case with many users) go to another program to export smoothly such as Blender or Maya. I hope this will help you.

Thank you for your prompt help… seriously, thank you. I watched the YouTube videos before the forum post, but they didn’t work for me, and I have the 2024 and R26 versions. I’ll try maybe with another program to see how it goes… thanks, brother. A thousand blessings.

You may have to bake the scene using Bake Objects (with all the properties checked) in the Dope sheet to keyframes all the data in each frame and then convert the scene throught Blender.

Hello, I have a curious question: I have imported several animations from Mixamo.com… and everything works fine in Cinema, the animations work, but… in the timeline, the keyframes do not appear… I am attaching the file, I just want to learn how to make the keyframes of the animation visible… Thanks in advance, a thousand blessings!

You’re welcome, Mauricio! glad that was helpful for you, as for your other question, unfortunately I don’t have any previous experience with downloading animations from Mixamo.
