So, I have a short movie (4 mins) that I wish to export to a format that gives the best possible result on YouTube, Vimeo and other streaming services.

Somewhere (I think it was here?) I read that YouTube now support ProRes422 as a source material. So far, so good.

But what’s the best way to export my DVCProHD (thin raster) to ProRes? Using FCP7 or other software (Compressor? Episode? MPEG Streamclip?)

Any advice on this is greatly appreciated!

My idea is to provide the clients with a master file, that they will upload to YouTube/Vimeo themselves.

h.264 (delivery codec) is the codec for YouTube not ProRes. 4-7Mbs is a good bit Rate. Compressor has presets.
