I have a client who wants to have video exported with 1080i HDV and/or HDV2 with a video profile of M-peg 4 (with audio of AAC/Mpeg1 Layer 2 or PCM).

I have a FCP 6.0.6 running on a Power PC G5 (last before Intel chips).

I am new to this and don’t seem to have a grasp on what I need to do. When I export through compressor, there is an HDV 1080i60 choice, which I assume is 1080i HDV. When I try to modify it from a Quicktime movie to M-peg4 it reverts to factory settings and I have no idea if it is still HDV 1080i. Basically I think I am not understanding a fundamental part of the equation here when it comes to codecs and need help.

How can I export my video with the above export settings? The Video was shot with a Sony HDV camera, if that is important.

    Thank you for your help.

I’m just curious: How did you land this gig if you don’t have a clue how your tools work?
