explain 32 bit floating point
can anyone put into simple terms an explanation of how/why 32 bit floating point comes into effect when outputting in certain codecs like DV, HDV, H 264.
These codecs are 8 bit native, but under certain circumstances (I think it has to do with adding a filter like 3 way color corrector) they get rendered out in 32 bit.
Is this true/false
