    yes –
    Corning makes them. They are thunderbolt 2 only. There are currently no thunderbolt 3 optical cables.
    They are expensive. You might as well stick with a 10G adaptor, and cheap Cat 6 cabling. Especially now, the thunderbolt 3 to 10G adaptors are under $300 US. Will Corning release thunderbolt 3 optical cables ? I have no idea.

    Hi Bob,

    thanks for your input. I telephoned a little.
    The corning cables do just 10Gb/s.
    The problem is they get hot and after some time the connection gets unreliable.
    So optical cable is no choice at the present moment.
    Your Adapter possibility sounds quite good, because it is also 10Gb/s and cheaper,
    perhaps more reliable too.
