    Hi
I need to show expanding concentric circles radiating out from various points on a map. This sounds quite dull, does anyone have any nice tricks to liven it up? It’s for a title sequence so I can afford to go to some trouble, can we stick to After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop & Illustrator? If you really must use other 3d packages then I am interested in recommendations.

    Happy Easter

You can use the radio waves or circle fliters as a displacement map. Also a copy with a bit of glow on it. So it looks like light emanating that warps the map as they spread out.

You could also try Wave World (under Simulation>Wave World). It creates an amazing looking displacment map.. very realistic.

Set it to “height map” and there is your displacement map.

But, this might be a little TOO wavy for what you are trying to achieve. Just thought I’d mention it.

Animate a blury ellipse and use it as a displacement map.

    Isn’t that right, Chris? 😛
