  • Expand Null to Path / line network for JSON

    Hi there,

I’m working with a network of lines for a website and unfortunately JSON files don’t like AE effects, so Path to Null or Connect Layers PRO won’t work.

Is there a way to Expand Null to Path, meaning that the lines are converted in shape layers and no effect is involved?

Otherwise, if anyone knows a way to make fast line network without involving effects it’d be ace!

    Thank you

Null to Path can work on both Masks and Shape Paths.

So you can apply it directly into your shape, then make sure that you convert the expressions to keyframes before exporting

    Hi Filip,

I believe that converting the expression into keyframes would makes the json file too big for a website.

If the motion is not too erratic, You could try lowering the framerate of the comp to just a few fps, convert to keyframes and then reset the framerate, you’ll wind up with a fraction of the keyframes, which -again depending on the smoothness of the animation- could suffice to describe the required motion
