I basically did multicam (2 cameras and 2nd source audio) into one compound clip and then went through and set favorites in the browser.

I’ve dropped those into the timeline and would like to expand them to modify the 4 layers inside. Any way to do this OTHER than open in timeline?

With a compound clip you can either step into it and modify it (open in timeline) or you can break it apart, which essentially replaces the compound clip on your timeline with it’s contents.

Just curious – why use a compound clip instead of a multi cam clip?

Because I don’t understand how to use multicam. 😉

Ohh…and FCPX just saved me hours with the magnetic timeline. I LOVE secondary storylines…this program is really amazing in some ways. I hope they keep making it better.

Google how to Fcp x multicam.

Well done feature. Had a fun time my first shot at it.
