I am taking a tutorial and I’m stuck. I’m trying to “exclude overlapping shape areas”, but when I click on that button above, nothing happens. I’m trying to punch a hole through the circle basically. It’s strange because this process worked earlier for me, but now it’s giving me trouble. Here are some pictures to better explain what I mean. The first picture is the tutorial. The second picture is a screen shot from my project. Thanks in advance to anyone who takes the time. 🙂

It looks like you’ve got all your paths on separate layers. The path commands only work on paths drawn in the same layer. Select the layer you’re trying to exclude from, set the path command to “exclude overlapping shapes” and draw a second path in that same layer. That should do what you want it to do.

It is easier to destroy than to create.
    More fun, too.
