Exchanging scene files HPX500, 2000?
Posted by Grant Peacock on January 11, 2013 at 2:21 pmI am curious to know of other’s experiences in doing this. We’re doing a multi-cam interview in SD-PAL with these 2 cameras. Are there any caveats?
Thanks.
Grant.

January 11, 2013 at 5:18 pm2 different cameras. Scene files are different. You can try to match as close as possible by adjusting the settings on both cameras.

January 12, 2013 at 4:30 pmAh, thanks Steve. I should have guessed, based on my accumulated P2/Panasonic experience. I started with the 500, added the 2000 a few years later, and yes, ‘different cameras’ is right – You can’t even take the terms used in one menu setting, and reliably match them to the corresponding settings in the other camera.
Multi-cam match up issues for me is usually going to mean interviews. With this in mind, I’m guessing that the best empirical method for arriving at settings is to get a pleasing look (well lit face) on one camera, then bring the other camera to it.
Much appreciated, Steve – thanks for the good guidance
Grant.

January 12, 2013 at 8:08 pmIf you have a camera chart and/or a grey scale chart, you can match the cameras pretty close. A good monitor is also needed.
