“Exception occured” error during DVD import

I have searched around for answers concerning the “exception” error during an mpeg import and have been even more confused!
Let me describe the problem:I have been given a number of dvd’s (recorder DVDs as well as commercial 6gb DVDs)in order to compile some scenes for a film class I’m teaching.Of course some of them have encryption while others have none. What I do is I use dvd decrypter to end up with a dvd folder and then I import/dvd camcorder disc and choose the dvd folder.
While the mpeg from a recorder dvd imports ok, when I import the folder of an other, larger dvd(6gb), it imports the mpegs but gets an error as soon as it starts to create peak values(sfk file).Another dvd ipmort might manage to reach 75% during the sfk building procedure, and then it shows “exception”!
When I look up the properties of the mpeg in Gspot, i get an AAC file with a 338 or higher bit rate and it also mentions 3 streams present.any ideas please?

It’s probably the AAC audio that’s doing it. You might want to try processing the files with a utility like MPEG Streamclip or Womble to try and convert the audio into stereo wave or mpeg2 audio.
