Getting this error when re-opening my FCP project I was working on this afternoon:

    Exception Type: EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)
    Exception Codes: KERN_PROTECTION_FAILURE at 0x0000000000000000
    Crashed Thread: 0

This project file crashes FCP and I get this error. It tries to open up the project and reads to about 34% and then gives out… Any ideas? (I’ve trashed preferences, restarted and repaired permissions etc…)

Just started cutting a small multicam sequence. Any previous day project files open fine, but of course I hadn’t started cutting then….

Does this have anything to do with multicam? Hope not… cutting DVCPRO50 SD footage. Having made my picture cut, the last thing I did was to cut in the .wav files that had 6 tracks of audio (- could this be the culprit?) Everything was working and running fine…

I did notice Time Machine running it’s backup while I was working… could this corrupt my project file?

As a test a friend of mine opened up the same FCP project file on his laptop and it crashed his FCP application too…

I read elsewhere other people have had this error with other applications….

Any advice would be greatly appreciated…

    Many thanks,

    Rich

My FCP was also constantly crashing, but problem seems to be now solved by making a new account.
Old account was made in Tiger and maybe there is some legacy/compability issues with accounts in .4 & .5.
This might also help others, if their accounts were made in Tiger.

Just ran into this error last night. I was trying to export a 19-minute DVCProHD piece embedded in an SD timeline — an intensive task but certainly nothing crazy. FCP would crash after exporting 20% or so; error message was the same, EXC_BAD_ACCESS (SIGBUS)

I just installed Leopard on a brand new HD and updated it to 10.5.3. Reinstalled the Pro Apps and updated to .03 versions. Everything is new, including the user account.

From the Apple boards, looks like other apps like iTunes have crashed with this error too. No decent solutions yet…
