I have Excalibur 5.5 on my computer right now. I am thinking of upgrading to 6.0. I currently have a project I’m doing right now with a 5 camera edit. I have done everything up to choosing the camera switches. If I upgrade in the middle of this project, is it going to mess with the project in any way?

The biggest difference in Multi-cam is that Excalibur 6 uses Track Motion to create the PIP view while Excalibur 5.5 uses Pan/Crop. Therefore, if you run Multi-cam (the final step) in Excalibur 6 from a project created with Excalibur 5.5, the PIP will not be removed.

That is not a major problem as you can always use the “Remove Pan/Crop” tool on the Master track to get them back to normal. If you wish the utmost in safety, just finish it in Excalibur 5.5 but, with that one exception, it will work just fine in Excalibur 6.
