Posted by Scott Davis on November 13, 2005 at 8:42 amIs there a way in Avid to move the cursor forward in the timeline and exact amount? For example 6 seconds and 22 frames.

November 13, 2005 at 9:15 pmAs they used to say on “Laugh In” in the ’60’s “You bet your bippie there is!” Just click on the picture in your right “record” monitor. A small blank box will appear. Hit the plus sign or the minus sign depending on which way you want to go, and enter the amount in frames, or seconds and frames, or minutes seconds and frames, or even hours, minutes, seconds and frames.

November 14, 2005 at 6:33 pmI’ve never worked on newscutter so I can’t say for certain, but I can’t imagine it not having this ability, especially for a news environment where speed is of the essense.

December 7, 2005 at 9:59 pmHi Guys
I dont know about newscutter sorry.
Regarding the typing values to jump in the timeline. The value you type in depends on whether you have the AVID set to stop on head or tail frames. For example i have mine set on head frames, so to advance exactly 5 seconds i would type + 424 (25i PAL Project). If i were to set it to stop on tail frames i would type the standard + 500.
