I shoot with the EX3 in 1080 24p mode most of the time. I noticed that when I change the speed of the image, slow or fast, in Final Cut the results are not clean. Anyone have any thoughts as to why?

    Thank you,
    Peter

try unchecking Frame Blending…aside from that you aren’t going to get good results when you try to slow down 24p footage

I’ve had reasonable results converting to ProRes and then performing the speed change…certainly better than applying the change to the raw clip.
For slowing down very complex scenes, in my case–birds flying past and through brush in the winter (think lots of twigs, flapping wings) I purchased Furnace Core. But you have to leave yourself plenty of time to tweak the settings to get a good result…and even more time to render.
