  • EX1 Sequence Preferences in Final Cut Pro

    Hi guys,

I shot on the EX1 (1080 25p) and when I set the sequence settings it doesn’t give me an option for the native settings of the footage i.e. I shot 1080 25p. I can set that in the audio/ video settings (I have the latest version of Final Cut Pro), but the sequence settings only allow for 1080i with square pixels.

Any ideas for what I should do, essentially I think I’ve shot progressive but final cut won’t let me edit progressive.

    Regards, Hugh

Should do it. I have no problem editing 1080p25.

    Hi Hugh,

when you say ‘latest version’ I assume you mean FCP7. I know that in FCP6 there is no 25p option and as you rightly say you should use the 1080i EX codec. All these cameras record 2 fields of video – in progressive mode they just segement them. I believe when you export your timeline – the video will be ‘resegemented’ back to progressive frames.

    I’m with FC 6 and I have 1080p25 and 1080i50.
    There are standard easy setups.

Yes there is a 108025p vbr EX option – I’m on 6.05, possibly came in one of the fcp updates?
