  • EX1 FCP and slow motion ?

Hi all i have to edit a project next week and the camera man has suggested shooting slow mo at 16fps using the EX1 cam, he says it looks great and im sure it does but hes also asked me if i can adjust the speed to make it look like normal speed in places, is this possible? I know i can speed it up a bit and try to make it look normal but i have a funny feeling I will have issues?
So i was wondering is it worth the hassle does it look that good? i.e. super slow mo hd good?
Should i just tell him to shoot normal and i will adjust the speed in FCP or perhaps optical flow in motion?
If anyone has any advice id appreciate it
    Thanks Emmet

You want to shoot 60p. You can play it at 23.98 for slow motion
    or 60p for “real-time” speed.

On the EX1 you have to shoot in 720p to do this.

Or…if you need 1080 resolution then shot 60i and use optical flow
    to slow it down.

I suggest doing a few tests to see what you like.

[Emmet Reddy] “the camera man has suggested shooting slow mo at 16fps”

    Find a new camera man.

Shooting at 16fps and playing back at 24 (or 30) fps will speed up your shot, not slow it down.

You need to shoot at a higher frame rate than you play back to create slow-mo.
