EX media management
I’m just about to go on a 10 day shoot in the field, armed with an EX3 and my trusty old (and rather slow) Powerbook G4 (Power PC 2004), with limited internal hard drive – giving me probably less than 20 GB of free hard disk space.
I plan to download from the camera after shooting each day, but what is the best way to manage the media? 43 minutes of video (at 50Mbps) will, I understand, need 23GB of hard drive space, which I don’t have, and I am likely to shoot more than 43 minutes per day. Help!
Do I need to change the EX3 settings? – (though I still need 1080i HD quality)
If I have say a 750 GB external HD connected (by USB) to my PB, can I download via the laptop direct onto the external HD, eg not storing the media on the laptop at any point, but just using it to process the BPAV files to the external drive?
Many thanks for any advice – Mike
