June 16, 2008 at 8:06 pmThe tripod comes with the tripod plate.. Not the camera. Any tripod will have a plate with it. You just use the 1/4″ screw that is supplied with said plate

June 16, 2008 at 11:24 pmI’m using a low-profile Bogen quick release (Bogen/Manfrotto 3271). That allows me to get the camera on and off the tripod, or switch it to a Glidecam or monopod quickly.
Something to watch out for: I noticed that I couldn’t get the camera firmly onto the tripod plate.
Upon closer inspection I noticed there are four very small screws holding the camera’s tripod socket into the camera body. These screws were loose.
So be careful: The tripod mount may not be as robust as you might expect. In a critical situation, such as a camera crane, you might want to have the camera backed up with a safety line in case the tripod mount fails.

Bogen / Manfrotto 394 Rapid Connect 4 Low Profile Quick Release Adapter with 3271 (RC4) Plate
